Tiffany comes of age, at last. Didn't really enjoy the first three but this last is brilliant and perceptive. Perhaps it's the admixture of the "old" characters that helped me finally to see the Chalk as an integrated part of Discworld. I even went back and read that first three (and still found them a difficult, less compelling read). A good book makes you care about its characters and in ISWM this has happened

Well, as bad as the U.S. cover of the book is, the UK cover is pretty awful, too. Tiffany looks like a waifish ghoul on the cover and the witch behind her looks like a pedophile. Yucko. I hope that Paul Kidby didn't do this one, because if he did, he must be mailing it in these days.
