Change the World

The 1%, with control of the media.
The 1% breed fear and hysteria,
Blame the "A-rabs", the "Chinkies", the "Frenchies", the "Blacks."
The 1% pay low rates of tax.
The 1% say scrap all your healthcare,
Leave you struggling to live, having cut off your welfare.
The 1% fight wars in your name,
But you do their killing and it's you who gets maimed.
The 1% praise the Lord, raise the Cross,
But care not for Jesus, just profit and loss.
The American dream still rings loud and true
For the 1%. Sadly.....there's no chance for you.
OCCUPY TOMORROW!

I actually preferred this poem without the 'occupy tomorrow!' last line!

This year is the 20 year anniversary of hurricane Andrew coming through here. there are places that still show signs of the damage.

The Homestead air force base mentioned actually was rebuilt, but it was no longer an air force base, instead an air reserve base and the fighters stationed there were transferred to Italy. and it took two years to rebuild.

though i think this is most telling.

Neither. It's punctuation, which a lot of the people on the internets (not anyone here, really) only have a tenuous grasp of.

But seriously, Zeus is pretty much a d**k of a god (he wasn't alone in the Greek pantheon by any means, though). But then again, if he exists, so too is God. Or at best, apathetic.
