I don't know about you, but every time I come to this site and see Pterry's Facebook "identity" hawking some kind off merchandise makes me sad. Now, I know that he had no problem merchandising the DW brand while he was alive, and that's entirely within his prerogative. Heck, I happen to love the Thud! game I paid a king's ransom for. But at least then he had control over what kinds of products would be licensed.
Now that he's gone, it seems that every day we get "FB Pterry" pitching either overpriced special editions of Halloweed costumes. I'm not necessarily against his heirs finding ways to generate additional revenue from his work, but to have these things hawked under his identity is very unsettling. I wish they would just rename his Facebook identity to something like "Terry Pratchett's Publishers" or Terry Pratchett, Inc."
