I've been tracking this for a while. There is a anime-style remake of Thundercats on the way. It was my favourite childhood cartoon and I am still slightly obsessed. I was nervous about this, and the various film adaptaions that have been mooted in the past but this actually looks cool, though:

I lurved the original Thundercats

Nice little anecdote from my court clerking days - listening to a verra posh lady lawyer trying to explain the dynamics of Thundercat hierarchy to a judge to get over just how horrid her client's ex had been to heinously go behind her back and buy her son the the Lionel? action figure as a birthday present because she wanted him to save up his 'allowance' (Islington family  ) to get the set all on his own...

I'm being grammatical! - Lion-O's phonetic :p

Actually now you say that this is why the barrister had to explain the distinction to the judge 'cos he was chuffed that the 'lead' character had the same name as his brother and then he had to know why it was so awful that daddy had bought the most expensive one! PMSL

Somehow I managed to miss this entire section of the forum.

Very excited about the Thundercats film, I remember when I was at Infant/Junior school playing at Thundercats. I was a bit of a tomboy and only played with boys so as the only girl they made me be Cheetara and I so wanted to be Lion-o.

Thanks for the welcome back guys.

You are right Dave a series is much better than a film, I can also use the excuse of my nephew to watch it. Hope they do the original justice, now all we need is dungeons and dragons remake and I will be a happy girl. I know they do sell it on dvd but I can't bring myself to watch just in case it's not as good as I remember.

To be honest Dave I couldn't tell you how it ended as I was very young. I just remember loving it and really wishing that Uni was my pet.

Ooh perhaps they could make a film that ends with them getting home. Perhaps we ought to pitch that to someone.

There was an ending written but it was never actually filmed. See this from IMDB:

IMDB said:
Although many people claim there is a final episode, it was never filmed. The script, "Requiem", was finished and it is available on line courtesy of writer Michael Reaves. In addition, the DVD box set release of the series includes a performance of the script as a radio play style production.
You can read the script HERE.

my main recollection of Thundercats was the strident criticism in some quarters when it was announced, it was the first of the merchandising-driven series to appear on UK prime-time tv and a lot of parents hated that.

Yep, IMDB is a great place for finding out all about movies and TV shows. It's one of those sites where you go there to look up one thing and then end up looking up a load of others.
