Do you have any unlikely/bizarre/clearly-not-intended-in-the-canon-yet-strangely-plausible theories regarding Discworld? I'm thinking of things in the vein of "Vetinari is a secret vampire" meme before it got disproved.

I ask largely because I've developed one of my own as a result of reading Snuff: Stratford is Carcer's son. Is there any chance that Pterry meant for him to be read that way? Absolutely not. But it makes a weird amount of sense to me anyway, and for some reason I find that really entertaining.

There was a good one on TVTropes - that there is a Discwide conspiracy involving Vetinari's aunt and Lady Margolotta to bring the various countries on the Disk under peaceful regimes who would promote commerce instead of warfare.

I think Vetinari's aunt IS Lady Margolotta.

Carrot and Moist are really half brothers. Think about it.

1. They're both from Uberwald (isn't Copperhead in Uberwald? Actually, we don't really know where the "wagon" Carrot was on came from when it was attackked).

2. They're both amazingly good at manipulating other people to see their point of view.

3. They both know how to control vicious canine creatures.

4. They both rise to positions of power within a very short time.

5. They're not afraid of going head to head with Vetinari.

6. They've both buried things that could make them rich and powerful.

7. They both hide (or at least decide not to reveal) their true identities.

8. They bring innovative new ideas to their jobs that shake up the old order.

9. They both get under Sam Vimes' skin every now and then.

10. Their girlfriends can be real bi**ches at times.
