I must be getting Psychic cos i knew you'd dislike this list Q ;)
Naw. It's a little something called 'pattern recognition'. If you have it, you're more a cynic than a psychic. :p

Do you not think they've already done an 'of all time' list Q o_O: I'm pretty sure they've done many.

Now that we're well over a decade into the century it's a fun idea to do a 'clean slate' list.
...No it isn't. :p

I mean, if that was the case, surely my namesake, Professor Bernard Quatermass, would have been chosen. After all, there was a TV remake of The Quatermass Experiment in 2005.
I watched that but he wouldn't make my list... :p

Without Quatermass, there would be no Doctor Who. 'Nuff said. :p

Actually in the version you mean, without Dr Who there would be no Quatermass, he was in it. ;)

Mark Gatiss, who played Patterson alongside Tennant's Briscoe in that version of The Quatermass Experiment, actually joked (as he and David Tennant were friends and had discussed how they would play the Doctor) that Tennant was afraid that Gatiss would murder him to steal the role.

The Top 10 Sci-fi Icons
Sci-Fi eh? What's Potter doing here? And Dean? And Buffy/Spike?
Of All Time
Time, as we all know, starting at the milleninininiunium.

1 Captain Mal Reynolds (Firefly)
2 The Doctor (Doctor Who)
3 Captain Jack (Torchwood)
4 Buffy (Buffy the Vampire Slayer)
5 Spike (Buffy the Vampire Slayer)
6 Ianto (Torchwood)
7 Harry Potter
8 Mr Spock (Star Trek)
9 Dean Winchester (Supernatural)
10 Starbuck (Battlestar Galactica)

I was surprised Buffy ended in 2003, in my mind it was located solidly in the 90s.
How many people were thinking they were voting for old school Spock, while actually voting for the reboot Spock? Or were they voting for future wrinkly reboot Spock?

I dislike this list on the principle of it being crap.

Eh..... I thought this was sci.fi. list, and personally I don't consider Supernatural to be sci.fi (great show! but now sci.fi). Buffy characters and Harry Potter (what?? sci.fi ... what??) are out on the same accord for me

I think Riddick is missing from the list :)

I still find it strange that Firefly is so popular and yet didn't get enough ratings to stay on TV...
The very definition of a cult show. Besides, didn't Fox screw things over with the series? o_O

I believe that they did the usual - didn't promote it, changed the day of the week it was shown, and (a classic in my opinion) didn't show the episodes in order.

Low ratings. If something is not an immediate success then it's dumped - doesn't matter how brilliant it is.
