Sometimes, there are times when you just have to wonder, watching a TV program, "WTF?" Sometimes, a line is delivered just too hammy, or too dull, or in such a way that you can't help but laugh or smirk.
This is what this thread is for.
I'll begin with an item of historical interest. Unfortunately, the Doctor Who story The Macra Terror is currently completely missing, beyond some clips recovered from the Australian censors, as well as some brief clips filmed by a fan with an 8mm camera. However, the story is undoubtedly an intriguing one, mixing atmosphere, multidimensional political satire, and giant enemy crabs breathing poison gas. Even so, it has its moments of utter camp, but one moment in particular stands out. Although the story is missing, the audio remains, and one scene stands out as a major moment of unintentional hilarity.
Not far into the second episode, the Doctor has been caught in the company of Medok, a man rebelling against the authority of the colony the Doctor and company have ended up in. Medok managed to show the Doctor one of the Macra, the alien creatures covertly ruling the colony, but in order to allow the Doctor free reign to investigate, lies to the Pilot of the colony, claiming the Doctor was trying to get him to give up. The Pilot isn't convinced, and once the Doctor and Medok are out of the way, he and the Controller (portrayed as a Big Brother-like portrait on viewing screens with a booming voice) decide that they need to brainwash the Doctor and his companions.
Now, the funny bit comes when the Controller (who is later revealed to be a Macra with a picture and a voice synthesiser, the real Controller being a timid old man kept prisoner by the Macra) begins to rant. Thanks to the audio collection I have, I found out that the original script actually confirms this was intentional for the Controller to get, and I quote...

In the novelisation, it's almost as bad. Probably because it sounds more like it would be spoken by a Dalek on diazepam.
