Moon over Soho by Ben Aaronovich. A hoot, and brilliantly includes vampires without the blood  (jazz vampires).

A super and clever read, more so if you come from London and/or know Covent Garden and Soho areas!

Rivers of London, his first book is excellent too!
I might have to check that out now Meer, just when I'm trying to cut down on my book buying.

Would you not read a proper english version of the book Tony . The Golden Compass is the dumbed down title for Americans
Damn! I meant The Northern Lights. It's the movie that's called The Golden Compass.
The american version and the oz version of the book were called the golden compass because northern lights would confuse them.

I am reading...The Boy In The Striped Pyjamas by John Boyne. I haven't seen the film.
Good book. If you like it try a few of his adult books. House of Special Purpose, Mutiny on the Bounty and The Absolutist are all amazing books of his. They're my favourites but his others are worth a look too

Sorry for the shameless promotion of a fellow Dubliners work but hey they are good books ;)

Well I have gone back to where it all started for Vimes, Guards! Guards!. As once I again I am working my way through the series, having read Pyramids before Snuff came out. On a side note Pyramids is still one of my least favourite books.
