Quick note re Ben Aaronovitch: Any US readers who might be fancying a read of Rivers of London, will find it was released as Midnight Riot in your country.

I'm about to read it myself, as the book for November with a book club I take part in. I'm looking forward to it.

That's almost a week away, though, so in the meantime I'm fancying something SF-ish, but can't decide between Paolo Bacagiulpi's The Wind-Up Girl and Lauren Beukes' Zoo City. Any recommendations on which to read first?

Started reading Titus Awakes. I have it a few months but i've been afraid to pick it up. I'm a big fan of the Gormenghast books and i've been wary of this book not standing up at all.
Its begun to taunt me from the bookshelf so i've relented and picked it up.
About a quarter in now and still don't know what to make of it. Ah well. we shall see.

American Gods. Just started it, so no opinion yet. I'm not a Gaiman fan, but I heard it was good.
Finished American Gods just last week, really enjoyed it. Will be reading more of Gaimans books.
