The Last Kingdom by Bernard Cornwell, it's pretty good so far

Uhtred is a bit of a brat in that one, but he really grows as a character throughout the series.

Reading now Neverwhere, by Neil Gaiman (often been recommended on this forum) . Half through it and loving it ^_^

Excellent. When you finish try the TV series. Its an odd book in that the series came first and the book was written during filming and production

I knew nothing about the series I'll look for it ^_^

I started Infinite Jest by David Wallace last night, and next time I looked up it was 0400 and page 200something...It is really good: disturbing, but engaging.

Reading The Adventures of Kavalier and Clay by Micahel Chabon. It's for reading group - 650 pages of retaliation by someone else in return for my 627 pages of sci fi! But at least 4/6 people read my book, which isn't bad. So I really have to finish this one.

I've just finished "One Step Behind" by Henning Mankell and am 50 pages into "Something Wicked This Way Comes" by Rad Bradbury, it's so beautifully written.

Blimey, not much reading being done by the forum members this week, though I imagine you all have jobs and families to be seeing to. I really must see about getting one of those at some point

I finished "Something Wicked This Way Comes" and it was wonderful, just a sublime piece of writing. I hope to write a review that will do it justice.

I'm 200 pages into Mankell's "Firewall" but I'm taking a break to dive into some fairy tales with "East of the Sun and West of the Moon" tonight.
