"A Monster Calls" more than lived up to expectations, all the elements of the story were weaved together so elegantly and the prose was simple yet beautiful. The illustrations were stark and sublime and I took the time after reading it to just flip through and look at them alone.
I read that a couple of months ago.I thought it was quite interesting but had a bit too much illustrations.

I have no idea o_O
Look up the wikipedia entry for "uncanny valley"
It freaked me out for another reason. Reading Alice in Wonderland a couple of years back gave me a headache.

Let's see... Amongst the books I have read of note are Blindsight by Peter Watts, and some Doctor Who novels: The Infinity Doctors by Lance Parkin, The Face of the Enemy by David A McIntee, and Last of the Gaderene by Mark Gatiss. Books I am currently reading include A Feast for Crows by George RR Martin, The Black Cloud by Fred Hoyle, and Dreamcatcher by Stephen King.

A Conspiracy of Violence - Susanna Gregory set in Restoration London.

Not as good as her 14th century books, which I prefer. However, I do like the way that Pepys is portrayed*, as I feel much the same about him once I'd finished his bloody Diary!

*occasionally mentioned as sucking up to anyone with a title.

For $2 I picked up a nice "looking" book the other day purely for the hard cover so I could cut it up...... (shhhhhhhhh..... settle down)

And it has turned out to be a real page turner.

Cant remember the title... something about teens, and the undead teens being accepted into normal society.... seems only American teens can come back from the dead.... something to do with the high amount of preservatives in McDonalds food

Brave New World - Huxley. Loving it  I'm not sure if I'm supposed to find it hilarious, but I do
I found it pretty hilarious too, Antiq! Viviparity, the horror!

I've got my hands on a stonking great collection of Wodehouse shorts from the library - Jeeves and Psmith and one-shots, oh my - which I'm currently tearing through at a rate of knots. Longer than the Bible but so much more fun.
