Oooh, a new Christopher Moore! A quick look at Amazon though & I can see I'll be waiting till October for the paperback. Ah well, I can wait.

I have to read Tender is the Night by F. Scott Fitzgerald for reading group. It looks a bit miserable to me

Why is it that book clubs pick miserable books? :| A few years ago a neighbor talked me into joining a book group she put together - never again! They were addicted to Mis-Lit and resisted reading anything different. I would rather eat glass than read and discuss a miserable book. Life is too short to read something you're not enjoying.

The Kindle or Nook with the pearl ink is the nearest thing to reading a book, ie is like reading text from a page the problem with pc lcd screens is the bright light which makes your eyes tired, that does not happen with a Kindle. :)

Go into your nearest computer store and try a Kindle out.

Sorry Pip, but what if I promise to use it only for Study/Work reading, + the books that are ONLY sold as ebooks?
Sounds a bit like Famous Last Words..

I like my paper books, and I am not going to pay the same or more for less product and less rights. Just not happening.

NO kindle in Fnac, but I'll have a look at the Sony e-reader.

Looking at amazon kindle touch 3G...I can hear the siren call....

Sight. kindle dx does not have wifi only "Free" web. Not going there, sorry amazon.

I know. My punishment will be to for etenity try and read e-books on a device that does not work properly: looses pages and get stuck, freezes, and so I have to start over again, blinking text, oversensitive touch screen and skipping pages. When it starts. On a lucky day. While seeing others enjoying paper books, bearing a pitying smirk on their faces.. :(

That's three books in that one I presume it's the Millenium edition you have, and another thinner one is "The Brothel in Rosenstrasse" loosely based around the time of the hundred years war with Von Beck in it.
Yeah it's The Warhound and the World's Pain, The City in the Autumn Stars and the Pleasure Garden of Felipe Sagittarius in one book. :) Really enjoying it so far
