The Golden Bough by Sir James Frazer. (1854-1941) (A study in magic and religion).

The language is Victorian/Edwardian, stilted in places, but great fun as he starts to explain about how religion came about.
It's a very interesting book! I've not read it all but I've used it as reference for a few projects. Useful stuff and the copy I have is old and mystical looking :p

Had to study the book back in Uni for Anthropology. Used it for two courses , 'Social Thought' and 'Religion'. Really enjoyed it and read it fully afterwards away from study . Lecturer had a lovely edition split into five or six parts.

Val McDermid - The Retribution. (Part of the Wire in the Blood books).

Don't tell Pip, but I forgot to bring my Kindle charger, and only have about 25% battery left, so my long awaited new Kindle vampire book is being read very slowly to conserve battery for the train journey home.

Don't tell Pip, will you? ;)

Have you found your charger yet,Bouncy?
Funnily enough, I used the charger from my new HTC mobile phone to charge it this afternoon, only to discover as soon as it was fully charged, that someone has put the proper charger on my desk.
