I'm now reading The Asti Spumante Code by Toby Clements, it's hilarious.

"He had always hated travelling in cars ever since, as as boy, he had made a trip from one town to another."

"Emily pushed open the door. It instantly swung open, as if on hinges."

Reading The Best Science Fiction and Fantasy of the Year, Vol. 5. Grabbed it from the library because it has a Neil Gaiman story in it. I was disappointed to discover it was one I already read in another short story collection. Hopefully the rest of the stories are good.

Great book, especially if you read it immediately after The Da Vinci Code.

lol...I quite enjoyed DVC actually, as long as you don't take it too literally it's not a bad read. Angels & Demons was my favourite one of his though, I couldn't put that one down. The Lost Symbol was pretty pants though, with about 150 pages of waffle tacked on the end for no apparent reason.

There is a great spoof of The Lost Symbol here if anyone's interested:

I've been re-reading Sherlock Holmes since I recently watched both the Downey films and 5 of the 6 Cumberwosname programmes (I found the Sherlock series really excellent TV - the less said about the Downey films the better, methinks). It's been over 20 years since I last read them and I'm enjoying revsiting Baker Street.

I'm reading.......Young Sherlock Holmes:Red Leech :p Mongo reminded me of this book when he said he was reading the original Sherlock Holmes.I got this book a couple of months ago because there was a three for two offer at Waterstones and I needed another book so I chose this, but when I got home and looked it up on the internet I found out that this was the second in the series so I was put off reading it until I got the first one.But I never got the first one, thankfully this book hardly ever refers to previous adventures so it's not too annoying or confusing
