Re-reading Brysons A Short History of Nearly Everything  and am kind of wishing I never got kindle on my iPad...it is getting very expensive! So many books! Steampunk, dragons, whatnots....since I at the moment have too much time on my hands and there is a limit to how many times one can iron the same shirt ....I read and read :geek:

Jane Eyre. You know, I MUST have read this before, but I can't remember doing so. I know the story so well - but it's possible I may not have actually ever read it!

I had to read it after I read Jasper Fforde's 'The Eyre Affair' as I suddenly realised that I had no idea what the book was about.

I'm reading 'Gallows Thief' by Bernard Cornwell, a one-off book set just a few years after Waterloo. I've read it a few times before, but long enough that I've forgotten just about everything. It's a great book (as far as I remember).

Valley of the Horses, by Jean Auel. Second in the Earth's Children series. I really like this series, even if a lot of it is speculation, but really interesting nevertheless.
oh,oh,oh I have that book and The Clan of the Cave Bear I haven't got around to reading them yet though. At the moment I'm reading Frankenstein by Mary Shelly

If you like Evanovich, try your best to resist seeing the movie version of the first book. It was execrable and might put you off Stephanie Plum forever. .
Yeah, I'd heard that - I'm trying to resist

I gave in and regretted it. However, I don't think it will ruin the books for me at all. None of the movie characters were memorable enough to shake what's in my head after 18 books. So, if you decide to try it, I think you'll be safe. I didn't hate it or anything, but it definitely fell short in every way.

I'm enjoying them, although a little disappointed with the second book where the author decided to throw in some ...well...basically cro-magnon porn    Kinda unnecessary really.

Would it help if I forgot she was supposed to be Stephanie Plum? It's just that, if Mr Dotsie goes out, it's either zombies or romcoms on the telly (he's not that fussed about either). And there's way more romcoms to get through!

Yes, I do think that would help. And I don't think you'll find it difficult.
