One of the things I miss in my long time away from these forums is getting an idea for what to read next. I'm currently struggling through A Feast of for Crows.
Is that the fourth one? (I'm bad on the titles). If so, this one was the absolutely the worst, and I think Martin knows it, since he indicated in his notes that this one is really half of a much larger book he had to split into two. The series really went downhill in this one, and the fifth book is only a slight improvement.

Yeah it is the fourth. I've been about a quarter of the way through it for weeks. It's hard to get behind some of the new perspectives.

I'm reading Moving Pictures, I particularly like character Victor, He thought there was something unusual about Gaspode, because normal Anka Morpork dogs don't go woof

I liked UA as well. Thankfully it wasn't as much about football as I thought. I think Glenda is one of my favourite all time Pratchett characters. I remember having to explain the significance of the ending to Sharlene though.

I enjoyed UA and thought Sir Terry got the tone and understanding just right with regards to the 'tribalism' amongst the supporters, especially as he is not a fan of the game himself. (West Ham and Spurs were having a bit of an argument over post Olympics occupancy of the Olympic Stadium at the time, which was getting rather heated in some quarters.*) Football, however, wasn't the main theme but more of a vehicle to drive other themes along.

*It's still going on with Barry Hearn and Leyton Orient who were upset that West Ham didn't ask them to ground share.

I didn't mind UA, I like Mr Nutt.

In my continuing literature slump I'm reading anything by Wodehouse. I don't have to think too hard when reading his books, just enjoying his wit & prose.
