Had a discussion on another forum about the altering of names for different markets and no one especially the authors seem to like it.
The topic was sparked by an American asking why no one was discussing Midnight Riot in a Ben Aaronovitch discussion.
Renamed from Rivers of London its an awful title.
Ben ditched the publisher at the first possible opportunity

Just downloaded the new Martin Scott Thraxus and the Ice Dragon, after a few years and some contracturial problems he has written the 9th one but only in ebook format, I would have liked the rest in paper but I will settle for that, they are a fun read.

The Stars' Tennis Balls by Stephen Fry, was renamed Revenge in the US :eek:

Bernard Cornwell wanted to name his book about the Battle of Poitiers "Slaughteryard" but the publishers didn't approve it. And also his book about that famous battle of Henry V is called "Azincourt" (the correct French name) in the UK and "Agincourt" in the US.

Didn't Bernard want to give the Fort a different title aswell?
