I dug out some H.P. Lovecraft at the local library, just grabbed everything I could and ran away. :p

Just last night before bedtime I finished The Shunned House. Very good and just makes you love Lovecraft even more. :)

Actually : the Fool's Fate of Robin Hobb
(hmm not the complete book after all because the french editor had cut up the Hobb's book with a chain saw...)
Those books are magical. Actually, the first fantasy book I ever got was Fool's Errand somewhere around 2003-2004 (although not the first I read mind you, I bought a lot of Tolkien before that). Felt special getting a good book in birthday present from dad. :)

You make it sound like you pinched it - I hope not

Haha, no, it was not like that at all... ;)

But seriously, there was someone standing beside me looking really close at the same books, so I kind off pinched them from him. But I registered at the check-out. :p

Glad to hear it - especially as you have Vimes as your avatar ;)

There's no one who knows depression so well as someone who suffers from it.

HUGS

Ditch the book and read some Pratchett instead. His writing warms the very cockles of the heart. ;)

I agree with Tony Jan .If the writer has no personal experience then I'd ditch the book (but keep the chocolates... ) and swap it for a good giggle!
You've obviously devided your own coping skills which in truth are probably more effective .

I thought Anansi Boys was OK, but The Graveyard Book was a lovely story. But his best by far was Good Omens ;)

I found a second hand copy today of Alan Dean Fosters first book in the Spellsinger series, so I am reaquainting myself with it. Read the whole series a long time ago. It's still brilliant!

Reading The Night Angel Trilogy by Brent Weeks just now.

I'm really enjoying the book, but I've been put off Orbit publishers now. The grammar and other errors that should've been picked up on are atrocious. Having said that, I'm enjoying it well enough to get past that one issue.

I just started another Kathy Reichs book this morning. I don't think I'll have it finished before my trip to the US, but I'll have to find something else to read as well.

Just finished The Blackbird Papers by Ian Smith. I think it's his first book. It was a good mystery, quick, easy read. But there were a couple plot holes that bugged me.
