I finished A hat full a sky.
Very very very better than The Wee Free Men ! I really love it and become a real fan of Tiphaine !

I also finished Homecoming by Robin HOBB, that's very pleasante, it's a homcoming for the reader too. And the style like a diary's journal it's perfect.

So i return to Dune with The Butlerian Jihad.
And i also start Coraline by Neil Gaiman, i want to read it before to see it.

I don't usually recommend books I've not yet read, but I've got this one on reserve at the library, and one that I thought might be of interest to people on this form. The following review of Still Alice by Lisa Genova is from the newsletter of one of the local bookstores:
This is the story of an early onset Alzheimer's patient. Alice is 50, a Harvard professor of cognitive psychology and is starting to think she is losing her mind. The story is told from Alice's point of view and is both fascinating and frightening at the same time.

We learn about her family and how each of her children and her husband deal with her memory loss. This is a book that could have been depressing and difficult to read, but it is neither. The author does such a great job of telling this story and in such a unique way that I could not put it down.

Whether you are dealing someone with dementia or just want an excellent read, this is a must.

I've decided to take a short break from my chronological journey through Discworld having just finished 'Thud'.

I've borrowed 'I Walked by Night' from the library. It Being the Life and History of the King of the Norfolk Poachers written by Himself and Edited by Lilias Rider Haggard. Originally published in 1935, it's a fascinating account of country life in Victorian times compiled from hand written notes with most of the original mis-spellings allowing the flavour of the Norfolk accent to flow through the narrative. It is interspersed with poems and songs and some delightful pen illustrations.

Roofworld is a good book - sort of like Neverwhere, but up above rather than down below ;) I love reading these alternative versions of London. Fowler's Bryant & May series is excellent, and his books of short stories reap much reward.

Reading Alexei Sayle's 'The Weeping Women Hotel' - he really is a top class writer.

I'm currently reading Vellum by Hal Duncan:

An extraordinary, incendiary debut from a rare new talent, Vellum showcases a complex and sophisticated level of writing coupled with a fecund imagination that defies description.

Vellum: The Book Of All Hours

It’s 2017 and angels and demons walk the earth. Once they were human; now they are unkin, transformed by the ancient machine-code language of reality itself. They seek The Book of All Hours, the mythical tome within which the blueprint for all reality is transcribed, which has been lost somewhere in the Vellum–the vast realm of eternity upon which our world is a mere scratch.

The Vellum, where the unkin are gathering for war.

The Vellum, where a fallen angel and a renegade devil are about to settle an age-old feud.

The Vellum, where the past, present, and future will collide with ancient worlds and myths.

And the Vellum will burn. . . .
And Stephen King's most recent collection of short stories, Sunset After Dark.

I got the third Stephanie Plum out of the library, but I think I've had enough for now so I'll rest it while I get through Guards Guards. The last three books for my reading group have been pants, so I'm in a bit of a reading dry patch right now - if I don't like a book I don't finish it, so I haven't got through a book in ages o_O Terry will cure that though ;)
