I would recommend "GOOD OMENS" by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett. Very good and mostly no serial killers. Or Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman which has mostly disappearances instead of grisly stuff.
Apropos (or is it à propos?? I keep wondering!) someone recommended American Gods to me. I haven't read anything by Gaiman, except Stardust... Is it a nice novel?

I am a little afraid of Neil Gaiman... I read his Smoke and Mirrors book and got both scared and then very angry about some of the stories. He has a brilliant mind with some very, very dark nooks in it.
Finished Going Postal again, I really do like that book and am reading "Free from Lies" by Alice Miller, I love her work. It has enlightened me and helped in my therapy.
Also reading Small Gods again, then will read Going Postal for SEPTEMBER 7TH.
