Read "Unseen Academicals" Thursday/Friday, and "I Shall Wear Midnight" yesterday and early this morning (very early). I read fast, but usually don't consider having read the entire book until the third reading. Give me a week and I will start with UA again.

No idea . Sadly. I always order Play cos they deliver free to Ireland unlike any of the rest but recently every oreder seems to take three weeks when it used to be one. I'm starting to reconsider my custom but they have such great bargains. We shall see.

is really quite good so far... one of those that just makes you smile cause he's an idiot but you can't help but like him!

The Flashman books are great! Apparently when they were first published loads of people thought they were really based on the 'discovered manuscripts' of Flashman.

Yes he really is! There's mention of Tom Brown and Rugby School in the books. Several of the characters crop up during the series too.

Actually, Terry parodied Tom Brown's School Days in Pyramids. In TBSD, Flashy had a pal named Speedicut - Terry has a bully named Fliemoe. Both of them are named after lawnmowers.

I loved the books, in fact anything by MacDonald Fraser is worth reading especially his war memoir, Quartered Safe Out Here, giving his time in Burma

I got this one for my dad, who was also in Burma during the war. The book could could have almost been written by my day, as so many of GMF's experiences were very similar. Sadly my dad had a stroke and died before he got the chance to read it. It will always be a very special book to me.
