Nope. Its to avoid drunk travellers destroying the Pub/hotel/shop etc.
I know the feeling, we have travellers cause havoc at the cinema almost every Sunday, like clockwork. :( I'm OK now I'm in projecting but I used to fear my Sunday shifts when I used to work downstairs, It wasn't just fear for myself but for the other customers, out of embarrassment and frustration at not being cake to ban them (only people we can can are pirates) and that security are always slow getting over from the mall bs we don't have our own. o_O

But on the racism issue, it's not officially racist to ban travellers or gypsies, as these terms have been legally defined in the UK as people who choose a nomadic way of life, without reference to race or ethnicity.

So if you think your premises will get trashed, you are entitled to refuse entry to anyone you wish. I suspect the weak excuses for cancellations of bookings are because people aren't entirely sure if they're allowed to do so.

 and yes you got your translations right :) We don't have the power to ban pirates but FACT do, there's a reward too, for catching then in the act...I haven't cashed in yet.

Its such a minefield here . The racism card is pulled in cases where anyone else would get locked up . Some big towns get shut down for days on end with trouble . Its a hate crime to ask someone to leave a pub but its not for them to throw a brick at your head (which did happen to me ((might explain a lot))

Mine used to forever suggest "tiger" instead of "thier" (HOW many people text each other about tigers????)

My daughter and her b/f were going out on Saturday to shop for new furniture for their new flat. I texted her the night before and ended with "Have gun when shopping" (should have read FUN)

She texted back: Thanks Mum.... But P suggests paying cash. Making a getaway carrying a sofa and two sidetables might be a bit hard.

Maybe pirates - as in people who pirate the films by taking a video camera in. :p
