 I still haven't seen The Commitments....love Kevin Smith  , I have all of his films except Cop Out o_O his next is a religious horror called Red State, mixed reviews.

I have the Buddy Christ from Dogma next to the TV in the front room, it's about five inches high, not huge thing from the film ;)

NOT The land of the risen Son!!

I watched Pokemon - Zekron today. Pesky 1 downloaded Zekron from the screen for her Pokemon Nintendo DS. I fell asleep and was woken up by Pesky 2, coz I was snoring.

In the film everybody did their best (as they always do in Japan), the Pokemon who helped them died, but didn't really. The bad guy turned out to be a good guy and promised to do his best from now on. Zekron and a big white Pokemon who looked like a big chicken had a fight, but Zekron saved the white one and they became friends and helped save everyone. 8)

Watched The Lovely Bones yesterday and damn near sobbed through all of it.

Awe isn't she cute you might think. Knickers to that! It was a blurry shock to my system, I could count on one hand the number of films I've cried watching and I've never gibbered like an idiot like that.

Brilliant film but it will be years before I watch it again

I have to say I prefered the book. It was the last book I read before embarking my Pratchett odyssey and it is still clearly stuck in my mind. The film felt too glossy and lacked depth I thought. :(

i still like the film, especially how Stanley Tucci did Mr Harvey, the best sscene in the film is the scene where Susie's sistergets in his house.

What I missed from the film that the book has is the passage of time, in the book the mum is gone a lot longer and gets a '$@%k you' from Buckley, who doesn't have much of a presence in the film.

+ only a kiss at the end? It's called The Lovely Bones not the Lovely Kiss. o_O

I did like how they did the odd goth girl, though, she had some presence. :)

It's a sad but inevitable fact that films never touch you as much as the book. But that's not am altogether bad thing is it? Tis why we're all on a book forum :) The only films that have come close to the books is The Lord of the Rings. That's just my opinion but Peter Jackson really pulled the boat out for that trilogy, which to date in my mind is the best trilogy ever made.
