Watched the new Planet of the Apes in S.F., the day after we were in Muir Woods where they filmed some of it, good film with a surprisingly good ending. 8)

I bought four DVDs of the first series of 'New Captain Scarlet' at the car boot sale. It's a British CGI version of the puppet series (made at Pinewood) by Gerry Anderson. I watched it yesterday and it's actually pretty good.

I'll be on the lookout for series two now.

I haven't seen that, but there was a TV mini series of the Borgias back in the early 80s.

This is more like a Game Of Thrones still version of it with the big productuion and stuff. Absolutely hooked on it!!

But Adolfo Celi looked much more like the real Rodrigo Borgia than Jeremy Irons ever could. He's just too handsome.

I've never seen any other version of this so I'm not sure what Rodrigo "should" look like but as an actor Jermey Irons is fantastic in it for me.

The real Rodrigo Borgia is the one on the left. Jeremy Irons is in the middle, Adolfo Celi on the right.

Just watched Casablanca (again gotta love that movie ) but I still don't really get the sentence: "Here's lookin' at you, kid". In Hungarian it's translated something like "Cheer up, don't be sad" which seems apropriate, it's just that the words here's and lookin' and at and you and kid in this order are... weird... Can somebody explain it, please?

It means something like respect. He's paying her a compliment. Kid is a term of affection often used in American cinema from a man to a woman, I think - it was used in Sex & the City, and Kill Bill (Kiddo - which was why we didn't find out the characters name until almost the end).

It's a sort of toast. I agree, the words don't make a lot of sense, but I guess they don't have to.
