I think with some overseas programmes, it's very much more expensive for the BBC to put them on iPlayer as well as broadcast TV.

This thread is for movies too, right? Well, as people following the 'what did I watch' thread may know, I recently watched The Golden Voyage of Sinbad. It was an interesting experience, seeing a pre-Bond Caroline Munro, and a pre-Doctor Who Tom Baker. Crappy excuse of a story, but a moderately enjoyable romp.

I gave up on it about six episodes in to the first season.

Still makes me smile when I think of Greg Grunberg's constipated look when he was doing his thang!

Well, I just watched Doctor Who: The Sun Makers, which can pretty much be summed up as the Doctor versus the Tax System. Better than it sounds.

I dunno if anyone who hasn't read the book before would be able to follow the plot.

All in all quite nice, but once again the book is so much better.

Cowboys and Aliens. Not all bad, but loads and loads of lazy writing and standard plot devices.

Standard plot devices is what makes it good! It's Cowboys fighting Aliens!! It doesn't get much better than that!

Yeah, I get where you're coming from but the movie was mostly disappointing to me because of lazy writing. Honestly, I prefer Independance Day for mindless alien violence.
