Watched The Guard last night. Brilliant Irish film

Great, great film!

Had a cinema day the other day and went to, Puss in Boots (brilliant fun, enjoyed it more than any of the Shrek films), Arthur Christmas (was okay but felt it was a bit meh! Had expected better) and Moneyball (great film, was very impressed with Brad Pitt in it)
I'm always impressed with Brad Pitt..oh wait...you meant his acting! ;)

Watched The Inbetweeners movie last night, don't make the same mistake I did! We stopped it half way through & went to Sainsbury's for our weekly shop  I will say that the second half wasn't as bad as the first (but I was reading my book).

Interesting Bob, I had a triple bill yesterday very similar, Arthur Christmas, Puss in Boots 3D (and I'd say at the least it's better than the last two) and A Very Harold and Kumar Christmas 3D. All in all a good evening before an 1130pm staff meeting. :)

2 3D movies in a day is a bit much for me, the glasses really get annoying, I do want to see Harold and Kumar 3 though should probably see 2 first

I've also been gorging on TCM's classic musicals (Singin' in the Rain, My Fair Lady etc.) all week. By this time tomorrow I'll have rewatched Meet Me in St Louis for the umpteenth time. I'll spend the next few days humming The Trolley Song now, thus earning me some odd looks in the pub.
Good lord...you're going to need some insulin injections are all that.

I got Sharlene the boxed set of BBC/HBO 'The No.1 Ladies' Detective Agency' TV series for Christmas. I only caught a couple of episodes when it was on TV and Sharlene hadn't seen it at all, so it was great fun to watch it together. Especially as we both loved the books.

I really hope they get around to making a second series.

We watched the updated version of The Borrowers this afternoon. A half decent little film, elevated by a genuinely amazing cast. Victoria Wood was brilliant (as usual), but wasted in the tiny part she played. The lad playing Spiller was a bit pants, though; what on Earth was that accent supposed to be? Irish? American? British? I gave up trying to figure it out after his third line of dialogue.

I've just watched earlier today The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn. Not a bad romp, using the best elements of two Tintin books to create, if not a spectacular story, then a good yarn with a lot of enjoyable spectacle. Plus, very good chase sequence at the end, done, for the most part, as one spectacular camera movement.

I have just watched the first part of The Colour Of Magic. Getting more warm towards David Jason as Rincewind, but he wasn't really the right shape for the part.

I spent Christmas day with my oldest friends and was forced to sit through "Strictly Come Dancing". I'm feeling better now. The screaming has stopped. 6 months counselling and I should be fine.

I did get to see the Dr Who Christmas special. Excellent stuff I thought.

I watched Harry Potter the Deathly Hallows last night, both parts - I refrained from watching the first untill the second was available to me. I must say i was dissappointed, I thought we were going to get a happy ending, instead those dreadful children murdered our wonderful Dark Lord and got away with it scot free.
