I watched Harry Potter the Deathly Hallows last night, both parts - I refrained from watching the first untill the second was available to me. I must say i was dissappointed, I thought we were going to get a happy ending, instead those dreadful children murdered our wonderful Dark Lord and got away with it scot free.

I like the Planet of the Apes franchise, well, more the idea of it. The original 5 films describing a closed time loop is a grand concept - theoretically you could watch the sequence starting with any of the movies and still be chronologically correct.

I thought this years Rise was better than the Tim Burton reboot. Mark Wahlberg for Charlton Heston? Please.*rolls eyes*

I'll be interested to see how the new series progresses - I'd like to see Caesar's band again, say 5 years later.

We watched the updated version of The Borrowers this afternoon. A half decent little film, elevated by a genuinely amazing cast. Victoria Wood was brilliant (as usual), but wasted in the tiny part she played. The lad playing Spiller was a bit pants, though; what on Earth was that accent supposed to be? Irish? American? British? I gave up trying to figure it out after his third line of dialogue.
I thought he was pretty decent but was curious about the accent myself, I think he's trying to make it in hollywood so he's working on his american accent

Went to see the new Sherlock Holmes and Mission impossible 4 today, really enjoyed both. Sherlock may have been better than the first one really enjoyed it. Felt like Simon pegg had done some work on the script for MI there was a slightly self deprecating tone at times and definately a lot more humor than the previous ones

Re: What have you seen recently?

went to the new girl with the new girld with the dragon tatoo, it was very good, held the tone of the book well. the slow tense rise to the finale was perfect, at least for me. The person sitting behind me was heard to remark that it was too long but those accompanying him disagreed.

Just watched Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows. Spectacular and mildly entertaining, and some decent casting, but that's it. Stephen Fry phones it in as Mycroft, I feel, and they've lost the tone of what they did with the first film, which at least had a proper investigative element in it.

Saw Tin Tin. Much better than I thought it would be. Andy Serkis what a legend.
He's become the go-to guy for mo-cap action.

I'm amazed, though, that it's Daniel Craig playing Sakharine. I can't tell that it's him. o_O
