I tend to find that if someone makes their first post in the TV/Movie forum or the Games forum, then they are often a spambot looking for key words.

It's kind of reassuring if people make some reference to Discworld and/or Terry Pratchett in their first few posts on a Pratchett based forum.

A spambot is a computer program that works its way through the Internet looking for message boards threads that contain certain keywords. When it finds one it registers and makes one or more posts. In this case, the other post it made was full of links to downloading movies to your computer.

What I was saying in my last post was - had a newbie registered and in their first post they talked about Discworld, then it would be far less likely that they were a spammer.
