I'll just keep imagining that it all happened in an alternate reality. ;)
It's basically just a chance to relive the glory years. Otherwise no more films could be made (a DS9 or Voyager film would be a really bad idea). I really enjoyed it, despite the poor idea of building ships in earth. But then, TOS was my favourite, so I'm happy to see it get made again, with a whole new bunch of stories

yep
and to tell you the truth it was an alternate reality from the start, because of Spock-Uhura, together before the voyage even started, and that never happened with the Nimoy-Spock, unfortunately, since I'd have liked a Spock-Uhura thing ever since he played his music for her in TOS

Yes, and the fact that Kirk's father was killed at an earlier stage made for a different Kirk that joined Starfleet. In TOS Kirk is described as always having his nose in a book during the academy.

Like I say - I enjoyed it, it just bothered me that it was so different.. If you see what I mean.

Quite enjoyed the new Star Trek, although it felt more like Star Wars than Star Trek. Worst part was the amazing coincidences (like a certain stranded someone meeting another certain person in a cave) that made absolutely no sense. Popcorn entertainment - and there's nothing wrong with that.

Speaking of reboots, yesterday I finally saw the new Muppets movie. I'm sad to say that I really hated it. Had high hopes but only a couple of good gags, too many (short) songs, the voices were off... pity really.

Today I saw a french film Jeux d'enfants (also known as Love Me If You Dare), recommended by a possible new love interest :) Some interesting ideas there but not the best movie I've ever seen. The ending was pretty good though.

It was French!

There's definately gonna be a date, we just have to find a day for it (loads of nightshifts for her at the moment, she's a doctor in training on a childrens' ward and the team's short some people).

I've got the Tintin movie on at the moment, not too bad once you're used to the animation :)

We're going to watch the remake of Fright Night tonight. I have a feeling I'm going to regret it. Never watched the first one.
And I was right. It wasn't horrible. I was able to sit through the whole thing, but wished we'd gotten something else. Didn't know David Tennant was in it! That was at least a nice surprise.

Was David Tennant a main character or did he have a smaller roll?

Sort of both. He's a main character but doesn't really come into play until at least halfway through the movie. Would have at least been a little more entertaining if he were on screen more.

Sadly Dave, that poster is a spammer. Their homepage is to a 'Free Movies Online' site, so I have deleted their post. :)
