From Man of Steel shenanigans to this.

Gut-wrenching but essential viewing I believe.

Did you see the faces of the two former guards? They just couldn't help but smile as they were talking about what they'd done.

Yes. In one part the last guard who spoke in the trailer said he didn't want North & South Korea to join together. He made the comment, What if someone I guarded from the camps recognised me in the street?

Shin says in the film when the camps are destroyed he'd go back & build a farm on that land, where he was born. It's heart-breaking.

It's an extraordinary documentary , I highly recommend it.

I saw a documentary several years ago about orphans in N Korea. The government stance is that there are no "unofficial" orphans there - they don't exist. Anyone caught acknowledging them or feeding them will be beaten. Needless to say these children often die. Official orphans are a sort of publicity campaign and live in luxury, but are trotted out every so often to show what a caring country N. Korea is. o_O

I'd like to see that one too. Let us know how it goes.

I'm going to try & see Elysium this week. I hope it's a belter. It's the same guy that directed District 9 which I thought was one of the best sci-fi's of recent years.

This is the end and Hangover 3 double bill for me the other night, the first of these didn't quite work to my mind the friendship between the group seemed weirdly contrived considering the actors are all friends. The Hangover 3 was a great finish to the trilogy, a bit darker than the others but John Goodman is brilliant in it.

You've just sold me on Elysium based on the fact that I also thought District 9 was one of the best (and most thought provoking) Sci-fi films of recent years.

Well then, it's a definite ;) . I'm a thicko but, I was just talking to my friend about seeing it this week and it doesn't show here until August, I don't know what date I was looking at  . It'll have to be Pacific Rim on my days off then.

Saw Men of Steel yesterday, which was okay but suffers from 'last 30 minutes full-on city destruction action'. Going to see Pacific Rim tonight, which should be a 120 minutes full-on city destruction action' :)
