I just went to see Ice Age 3 and I was laughing the whole way through. I wouldn't say the storyline was brillant. It was the same old lost-land-of-the-dinosaurs-story (except for the T-Rex: He's the good guy this time), just a lot funnier and set in the Ice Age.
A thing that surprised me was that it's a lot more adult than the previous movies, especially the second one. And it's got loads of dirty jokes .
(Sid: "Oh, look! It's a boy!" Manni: "That's it's tail, Sid." )
My friend & I thought that too, Cheery, far more adult, the jokes & rather naughty. But very, very funny.
I am deffinately getting the DVD. I could watch it again & again.

OK, I've seen it now. And it's good stuff! I think you need to have read the book first though, as they miss so much stuff out I'm not sure it would make sense otherwise. But - no more chat, for Tiffany's sake ;)

Tiz OK, Dotsie, I had a feeling they would leave a lot out & they did.
I thought it excellent though & what they left out didn't really spoil the film, if you hadn't read the book, it still made sense.
I'm sad certain characters weren't in it though.

We've bought Young Frankenstine in black and white (no offence  ) and wached it straight away. It's hilarious! I especially love Igor

"What a filthy job."
"Could be worse."
"how?"
"Could be raining."

(His little smile is priceless          )
It was made in black & white. :p Great movie - especially if you've seen the movies it's parodying.

I watched an awful film last night - the 'remake' of Romero's Day of the Dead - 'based on', the credits said - in what way, the fact that there are some soldiers in it, a 'friendly' zombie and we end up in an underground facility? A bloody travesty, with 'zombies' that not only can run, but can jump and spring like panthers, crawl on the ceiling like Spiderman, and burn and disintegrate like vampires when set on fire. Awful, simply awful.

We recently rented The Watchmen and Coraline.

Watchmen.... uh, different. Not bad, not great. Waaaayy too gory for my tastes. I have a feeling that if I'd been a fan of the graphic novels I might have appreciated it more.

Coraline... liked it! Visually, very beautiful. Definitely not one to show the girls though. Glad we watched it first. Read the book, but it's been awhile, so I couldn't quite remember how scary it was.

Next up is Knowing with Nicolas Cage. I'm not expecting a great movie.

And I'm STILL waiting to see Harry Potter.

I saw Coraline on the plane and liked it a lot. Haven't read the book yet. :)

I didn't like it either, which is why I'm hoping it's not the one Trish was in - if it is, sorry Trish!

I found a copy of Lars von Trier's 'Maderlay' at a car boot sale yesterday and watched it last night. It's the sequel to his excellent movie 'Dogville' and very much the same style of minimal use of props with the focus being on acting.

His movies aren't always easy to watch as they are about the way people exploit other people, but I love his movies. I would have ended up ordering this movie if I hadn't found it at the boot sale - but I'm glad I did as £2 is a bargain.

His latest has aroused perhaps more controversy than his earlier work - you going to see it?

Another director who gets people thinking is Michael Haneke - his 'Hidden' is excellent.

I may do - but I haven't been to the cinema in ages. :)
