What have you seen recently?

I've finally found Amélie in our school library: Gosh, that film is so great! I'm going to watch it again right now, but this time in french 8) (Always look a film in its original language; it's the best)

We watched the excellent 'Sunset Boulevard' the other day. I've been hearing good things about this movie for years but never got around to watching it. We both enjoyed it tremendously.

I was forced to see "baaria" an italian movie the other day... I didn't even understand it,and I really mean it 'cause i wasn't able to understand a word, but I have the feeling he was quite boring...
Had i known it was all spoken in such a strict southern dialect I wouldn't have enter that cinema for everything!

Ok, I doubt any of you can possibly be interested in that, but I like to join in

It is interesting -I wouldn't have guessed that there woud be Italian dialects that a native Italian speaker (which I'm guessing you are) wouldn't be able to understand. Although I have a bit of trouble with Geordie myself - I'm pretty sure I could watch a film in it though

a strict dialect is like a language of its own here in italy because every city as a history of think and talk that is all its own

Another film, Gomorra (last year movie) was like that, all strict dialect but at least i could guess what it was they were talking about because it was a mafia movie and you don't need much fantasy for that
and they were almost all "non-actors", just ordinary people, so i didn't like them either

Went to see "A Christmas Carol" at the IMAX it was different very visual in 3D Jim Carey did the voice along with Gary Oldman and Bob Hoskins.

Going back next month to see"AVATAR" which should be brilliant in 3D.

A Christmas Carol was excellent in some parts, but not very faithful to the tale in others. I guess they just couldn't help putting a bit of Disney magic in

Michael McIntyre Live at Wembley - some really funny gags in there ... one about spices in a cupboard complaining about not being used - women buying anti-wrinkle cream and his son's lack of manners...

Update on AVATAR looks like it will be in the New Year before I see it at the IMAX for the seats we want they are all booked except for Hogmanay and I will be ballocks if I'm going to see it then.

Watched Outlander at the weekend. A spaceman and a bunch of Vikinhgs battle an alien that has crash landed with the astronaught, god old dumb fun after a few beers !
