I saw "Wolf Creek" an Australian Horror movie from 2005.

Couldnt say I really enjoyed the shocking and brutal scenes
though its definitely well made and thrilling, even inspired by real incidents

I've got one of those 4 in a box sets as well but it actually has 4 great/good films....

The Shawshank Redemption
Educating Rita
On Golden Pond
Carry on Camping,

something of an ecclectic mix but all very watchable.

Just watched the last of the four - a movie I'd never heard of called 'Eye of the Beholder' starring Ewan McGregor and Ashley Judd. It was a real gem of a movie and a whole lot better than I'd expected.

One of the things that I liked about it was the fact that it left so much up to the viewer. You saw what was going on, but there was very little explanation about it, so you were constantly having to ask 'why?' And I like that in a movie - I don't want to be spoon fed a plot. It's like in Sixth Sense - the thing that ruined that movie for me was the way everything was explained at the end. This movie doesn't do that and I think it's better for it.

Well worth checking out if you like a movie that makes you think - and the filming and acting are a real joy as well!

I just watched Kung Fu Hustle again. I'm not normally one for kung fu films (I prefer Japanese films myself), but this is brilliant - absolutely hilarious!

I couldn't really say anything without spoiling it, but.... no-one is quite what they seem.

I watched a movie called Silkwood starring Meryl Streep. It tells the true story of a woman working at a nuclear processing plant who seems to have been deliberately exposed to radiation because she was trying to blow the whistle on the dangerous practices at the plant.

It really is a very good movie indeed that doesn't make the mistake of wallowing in sentimentality. Meryl Streep is, as always, brilliant!

Watched 'What's Eating Gilbert Grape' last night. I got a whole bunch of DVDs from a charity shop recently - those DVDs that are 'free' in the Sunday papers.

I had no idea what the movie was about and who was in it, but the name rang a bell and at 25p you can't go wrong.

What an incredible movie. I was staggered by Leo DiCaprio's acting and Johnny Depp was excellent as ever. But the lady who played the mother was a real joy to see. Her acting was really very good.

I'd recommend this one to anyone.

The last thing I watched was an episode of the Simpsons! I only caught the end of it, though. It was the one where Sideshow Bob becomes mayor. I've seen the end of this episode about five times, always on tv, and I still have never seen the beginning. o_O

Just watched a lovely movie called Bagdad Cafe. It's a German/American co-production and a little gem of a film. It was also (I thought) funny and it had me laughing out loud.

I just watch John Rambo.

I'd been putting it off because the last couple of Rambo film were just stupid.
First Blood was an excellent movie, Rambo wasn't!

I was pleasantly surprised - it wasn't as over the top as the previous films and the effects have moved on miles.

I think the scene were the village was laid to waste was in some ways more horrific than Saving Private Ryan.

It's not often that a film can make me exclaim out loud but in a couple of places I fell the need to express my shock at what I had just seen on the screen.

It's still a popcorn movie but better than a lot of them.

I watched The Madness of King George which turned out better than I thought it might. I think that if you watched this expecting a comedy then you'd be disappointed. It's not a comedy, it's actually quite tragic. As far as I could tell they even managed to get most of the facts right as well. :)

In America they had to rename it from "The Madness of King George 111" because Americans thought they had missed parts 1 and 11

It was called that over here as well. :p The original book was called The Madness of King George III, but the movie went on general release without the III. I think there's a lot of Brits would be looking for sequals as well. ;)

Sweeney Todd, The Dark Knight, and some other movies that weren't as good as those two paragons of awesomeness.
Team America: World Police deserves an honorable mention for being awesome, but not as awesome as Sweeney or TDK

Watched Get Smart.
Alan Arkin was great, along with the rest of the amazing cast.
"Are you thinking what I'm thinking?"
"Are you thinking 'Oh shit oh shit I almost got speared by a swordfish'? Because if you are, then yes, I'm thinking what you're thinking."
