Just seen a documentary about british hangmen, had to wait untill the end to see nans cousin Albert Pierrepoint.
Have you seen the film of his life starring Timothy Spall? I haven't but heard it was good.
No but have been looking for it, possibly I can download it. Many people think he was evil but he was actually a really nice man. Only found out a few years ago about his job as it's not really talked about in the family, a bit of a hush hush thing about 3 people in the family being hangmen. Albert was the most famous but his father and uncle were also in the buisness.

Its an absolutely brilliant movie. The book is even better.... and the interview with Timothy Spall and Parky was great too.

downloading it now, hope it is good, wierd how you have to watch a film to find out things about a relative. Caused a big split in the family at the time, myself I could happily do the job if I knew the condemmed was guilty but wouldnt want to do it if the evidence was unsure.
Who wrote the book?? will have to try to find it.

Watched Tangled yesterday and enjoyed it. None of the smugness, endless pop culture references (not jokes, just references) or delight with its own cleverness so present in a lot of animated features these days.

On the telly, I've just watched the first three episodes of Boardwalk Empire and really like it so far. Not sure if I mentioned it previously or not, but I've finally got around to watching Jericho and I'm really enjoying it a lot. For once, the writers of a show have sat down, done their research and really thought hard about the implications of their idea and it definitely shows through.
