Maybe it's the lighthearted mood and the colourful pictures and atmosphere it puts in my head. (Of course there are some darker elements, too.)

And I absolutely LOVE the Wizard of Oz part. Cracks me up every time along with many other parts.

Also the roadmovie feel and passing by different locations. (Which I find very fitting, here. )

I feel like I might start reading it again.

Out of the witches books I'd put Carpe Jugulum second, but I have to say, despite loving the witches, I wouldn't put the other books high in my list, now that I look at them. Especially Masquerade and Wyrd Sisters. (The latter perhaps because I never read MacBeth and Masquerade because it has very little rereading value for me.)

So that would be a good excuse to go off and get acquainted with the Scottish play and why not become familiar with the Phantom of the Opera while you're at it 8)
My favourites change but Reaper Man, Maskerade and A Hatful of Sky would currently be top of my list.

The Phantom I know, it's just that I can't relate much to maskerade and while I'm generally very "good" at forgetting details and beeing excited and surprised by them again when rereading a book after a while, this doen't happen with maskerade. But of course a large part comes down to personal taste, too, seeing that it is in your top three. :)

I think my top 3 are The Truth, Night Watch and Lords and I'll way Pyramids for Pooh because really I can't think of a top 3, view are all too good, (apart from Making Money), and my favourite is usually the one I am reading bs I've only read them once.

I feel slightly like I'm muscling in here, with you lot having been around for a while but...'Thief of Time' (probably because I've just finished reading it again!), 'The Truth' for sure. 'Jingo' maybe? God it's hard! I put about four in before finally typing that last one.

Interesting choices. Like most of us its bloody hard to get down to three and day to day it can change. Thief of time was the first DW i read so it always has a place high up my list

Whereas Colour of Magic was the first one I read (just after it was published) but appears quite a way down on my list. ;) This is probably down to the evolution of the Disc, the length of time since I last read it, and the changes in Sir Terry's writing style over the years.

Oh, and hellooo and welcome from me as well -ingDaisychain.

I just love the character of Lu Tze in 'Thief of Time' and Susan is brilliant in that one.
I read 'The Amazing Morris' first (and it's still one of my favourites) when I was about eight but didn't get into the adult ones until I was about fourteen and now I'm hooked! The man's a genius.
