So after an amazing series, i believe Matt Smith is becoming my favourite doctor. He is not as manic as David Tennant, but there is some real darkness there and he manages to come across as someone of age, if that makes sense.

I always enjoyed Tennant mind, i just dont think he was given many great stories. It may have been nice to see what kind of doctor he would have made if someone had told him to just reign it in a bit.

I'm at the start of the fourth series at the moment, slowly but steadily watching an episode when I've got the time to really sit down and watch (instead of having something on in the background).

I didn't mind Martha, she was pretty useless overall but not as annoying as Billie Piper. Never watched the Catherine Tate show but she's doing fine so far in Doctor Who.

I liked Martha too - not a hint of romance with DT ('cos he was human for part of it and with the Matron who's also in Torchwood I think? ;) ) and so it was more like the classic Who's who treated the assistants (not the companions see! ) like little kids even if they were alien (Turlough) or even a Timne Lady (Romana). I also loved the way she ended with dear old Mickey - much better for him than Blackroots Piper!

I think my favourite Doctor would have to be David Tennant although I quite like the new one Matt Smith (not that I know too many of the old doctors)

I like the acting of Matt Smith as the Doctor and Karen Gillan as Amy Pond. However I do hope, that in series six, he stops waving the sonic screw driver around like a magic wand to solve nearly all his problems. It is meant to be Dr Who and not Harry Potter, after all. :p

have to say I've really enjoyed watching Matt Smith as the Dr, Tennant was good but tended towards the melodramatic and also looked like he was in a gurning competition half the time, He gritted his teeth alot it was quite off putting. growing up watching who my favourite Dr is tom baker followed by Patrick Troughton. I think Matt smith did a great job this series and look forward to seeing more of him

It used to be said that your favourite Doctor Who told a lot about how old you are. The basis for this being that it was invariably the person playing the part when you were about 10. Of course the huge gap between classic and modern Doctor Who means this no longer works for people less than their mid 30's. But mine is Jon Pertwee, I leave you to work out how old I am

I have to say that I'm impressed with Matt Smith. Although he's quite obviously a young guy, he manages to put across the great age and experience of the Doctor. You can believe that he's much older than he actually is. :)

I think I already said way back at the beginning that Tom Baker (and David Troughton a very close second) was/is my favourite, but the latest regenerations have all been pretty great Doctors. I would have like the Christopher Eccleston Doctor to have stuck around longer than he did as he was really getting the loneliness of being the only survivor of a dead race into context before he had to re-generate into David Tennent. I really didn't approve of the romanticism of DT's doctor, but his quirky portrayal was certainly very winsome and I liked the inter-connectedness of the writing that seemed to come into it's own during his tenure.

Matt Smith seems to be getting his act together as the Doctor very well indeed and some of the episodes of this last series had a lot of heart (the Van Gogh episode made me cry buckets). I think I may have to start saying that my favourite Doctor is simply the current one but TB still holds the crown I think - must be the Jelly Babies...

err... I've only seen around five David tennant episodes and the matt smith ones. Don't kill me, I just forgot to watch it. For 3 years.

Soo...Fave doctor- Matt smith

Fave monster- WEEPING ANGELS! YAY!

(Tho why cant you just have many torches and a circle of people who take it in turns to blink and only wink one eye at a time. That's what I'd do0

Just started watching the Matt Smith ones this weekend. I have to say the writing's better this series in my opinion, production values are less... hokey too.

Wouldn't call Matt Smith my favourite Doctor yet, but it's definately my favourite series already.
