Thinking of the 'Blade Runner Thread', I thought it time for another competition. Just a bit of fun, no prizes.

RULES

Qualifying Round
1. Everybody may nominate up to 5 Science Fiction films.

2. Individual films only may be nominated. Star Wars Trilogy etc. will count as three nominations (you get the idea).

3. The films with the most nominations will then go through into the final, on a separate thread. I will decide later how many films go through, depending on the spread but it will be at least five.

4. Closing date for nominations is midnight (BST) Sunday 10th June.

Back to the Future

The Matrix

Solaris
(1972 version)

Metropolis

Men in Black

Everyone else has nominated District 9, so I thought that I would vote a little more strategically. I considered putting the adaptation of The Hitch-Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy in as well, but decided against it.

Good, someone else nominated Solaris.
Tarkovsky (spelling?) is a seriously underrated director. I love the spooky atmosphere he generates. In fact it could be argued that Stalker is all atmosphere and not much else. :geek:

I was also going to vote for Barbarella but that is definitely all style and no substance.

I agree about the substance not being all that much.
However...if the number of times watched counts...

Two lines i somehow seem to have etched in my mind, have nothing to do with my age at the time and the 'prettiness' of Jane Fonda of course. :liar:

"Here pretty,pretty..."

"What kind of girl are you?!" asked by Durand-Durand(yep,that's where they got their name ;) )after breaking
(edit : scratch my former recollection of orgasmatron,it has been a 'while', and make it...)the Excessive Machine.
