Wyrd Sisters is a very fine book. Yes, it's not Granny's first appearance, but in Equal Rites she was The Mentor to Esk. It's also fairly obvious that she needed another character to bounce off, which is where Nanny comes in.
Again, in WS, Nanny helps Granny in her own way (as she does in Maskerade). If it wasn't for Greebo, Nanny
scene, and so on.
Nanny also lends a hand in the
, among others. And Magrat also does her part! This is the first book that sets up the Magrat-Verence dynamic.
